Mobile Phone caller ID question

Can anyone help please? I have a Nokia 6500 Classic on an old Orange PAYG use.

Previous phones have shown who is calling, this one does not even if they are in my phone book, so if I miss a call it just shows missed call, no indication if there is a message or who it is - any idea on how to enable this facility please?

This problem is common on some networks (especially Orange). It's usually caused by an old sim not being fully compatible or a new sim that hasn't been correctly activated.

Sounds like you need a new sim. I think your sim may be too old for the phone. Orange should do this free of charge.

Thank you - now why couldn't I find that when I was looking for information on this subject

The sim card is the same age as the phone as I had my old account transferred to the new phone when I got it. Will contact Orange

Update: Orange sent me an update and it now works.

Just goes to show that in some instances it is a waste of time going though the manual and the Orange and Nokia websites etc and it is more efficient just to ask on TP where there is such a wealth of knowledge.
