Hi,
I wonder if anyone could give some advice.
I am looking to buy a 24 inch hdmi pc monitor which will be used for general web use, photo viewing and a small bit of editing.
I have looked at some models within my budget.
I have on my shortlist
benq gl2450hm which has a "va led" panel

http://www.amazon.co.uk/BenQ-GL2450...LG0O/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1353846422&sr=8-1

or LG model e2442 which has a "tn led" panel

http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/12606866/art/lg/e2442v-bn-24-full-hd-led.html

there are several other options which i have found on the page below

http://www.ebuyer.com/store/Computer/cat/Monitors/subcat/24"-Monitors

can anyone help, perhaps an owner or someone more knowledgeable of all things tft.Im lost , I have read the revoo/amazon reviews but, as with all things, some buyers are not happy and some are :bonk:

Thanks in advance.

I would personally not go for the BenQ, and that is because I think the LG or a Samsung monitor is more reliable and is higher of Quality. I think as you choose a LG or a Samsung LED monitor, you will not find much a difference between them. But if you are doubting, you can always visit a store, and look at them on the display.

Once you buy it, you should adjust the settings first. I freaked out the first time I bought my monitor because it looked so weird. I was ready to take it back, until I adjusted the settings. This may not always be the case, just some advice (;

Some research revealed that benq is a sister company of

Au optronics Taiwan who make panels for LG and others.
They are one of the largest TFT manufacturers in the world.

Hear what you say trasha try before you buy,but in today's world a visit to PC world or other retailer enables the buyer to see the product "out of the box" but not working ! Such is life..

The benq gets great reports from the gaming fraternity, but I do not know if this is good for them, but bad for my general computer tasking.i am not familiar with input lag ips/tn/led va and what is good or bad about each one.i have currently a Sony 19 inch TFT which is not widescreen format,it's about 6yrs old and getting tired.

Benq,LG,Samsung and AOC are major players in this price bracket and I am finding it very hard to choose between them.

Agree with soulfish above, the Dell ultrasharps are outstanding monitors. On another note you might want to google reviews of the company "pixmania", they used to be terrible, can't comment now but it seems that plenty of people are still having issues with them.

I also avoid Pixmania. Been several years since I last used them but had poor service with everything being European plugs instead of UK three pin when it came with a PSU!

Okay chaps ,pixmania is off the suppliers list.
Ebuyer,amazon,misco are the obvious contenders.

Look at scan.co.uk they have a today only, worth checking a few days, deals change every day and some are mega cheap.
