Due to a couple of failures needing to replace monitors .

I'm looking at the 2 above. Any comments from users appreciated.

Will be calibrated using Spyder3 Studio SR system.

Thanks

I've got the 2209WA, the default settings for brightness and contrast are way too high.

I've managed to get CRT looking image quality by setting brightness and contrast near to their minimum settings, and I'm quite pleased with the results. Not sure about calibration etc as I haven't tried this.

according to what? the spyder 3 calibrator ive got on mine only requires it dropped down a touch.

remember if you want 2 screens and a spyder (and other calibrators too i think) youll need a PCI-E graphics card or 2x non-PCI-E graphics cards :)

I have two of the Dell monitors and they were no that far out when they were calibrated.

Never used a spy3 so can't comment.

His eyes probably. LCD monitors can be very harsh when used in a darkened room for example, I've had to turn both mine right down just so I can be comfortable using them.

Got a 2209WA on the way.

My Spyder3StudioSR arrived and did a grand job on the 19 inch I'm using at the moment.

Still tempted by the HP one as well but blown my budget this month with all the new bits plus a shedload of advertising.

Iv had the 2209WA for a few weeks now

got it from an ebay seller with the Dell 5 year warranty for £200.00

cracking monitor ok , i had loads over the years and this is the best so far.

You will love it ok

Yes that's it, I often use it in a dimly lit room and it's too bright for comfort. When the lights are on it's fine. :)

2209WA here as well. It is bright straight out of the box but don't really find it any worse than the samsung 2032 it replaced.

I find the defaults on the 2209WA too bright too. I think both brightness and contrast were 75% and mine are now both 50%.
It's a cracking monitor though and the built in USB hub is handy!
