Ok - i want 2 nice monitors :) ideally identical :)

I've £300 in my paypal account, and wondering which? could anyone make any suggestions ? think i want biggest i can get for that price, hoping 22"?

I need them both to connect to my mac :)thanks all

My problem is which ones! I want to use one for editing and then the 2nd for net - msn and so on? I'm completely lost with the resolutions and stuff on them? Need recommendations of specifics if anyone could help?

there seems sooooo many out there :( it's so confusing and being blonde and all ;)

Thank you :) what is an IPS panel? I'm still confused!
 
The terms IPS and TN refer to the actual construction of the screens. TN panels can't display the full colour range which is partly why they're much cheaper.

I would then suggest a Dell 2209WA for your main editing monitor and possibly a 2209W as your second monitor and then they look "matching"
 
Not going to get two of those Dells for 300 squids though.
Regarding IPS and TN panels, you're not going to know the difference unless you put them side by side and a TN panel is perfectly good for photo editing. I have 2 Samsungs (20 & 22") and a 26" Digimate which all look great to me. squidgeyem this model 22" LG Widescreen LCD Monitor Silver DVI - Quickcode: #34080 is a good make and you'll get two delivered for just under £300. 1680x1050 is about as high a resolution as you want to go for a 22 inch monitor unless you plan to sit six inches away from it.
 
I have a 22" samsung and would love another. Off the top of my head I can't remember the model but I paid £150 for it a while back will update with model number when I get home.

Take a look on overclockers.co.uk. Fairly good prices and range but better than that loads of reviews of the monitors people have bought.
 
all TN panels are rubbish for precise image editing, by their very nature they are darker at the top than the bottom of the screen.
 
I would look at picking up something like a single, second hand dell 2405. I use one and it's great for image editing. There was one that went for £255 on here some time ago. I would then spend the remaining money on a second hand colour calibrator. Just my 2p. :)
