Monopod for 200-500

I have just pre ordered a 200-500 lens to go on a Nikon 5200, any suggestions for a sturdy mono for this set up,

Pretty much any will do. Just make sure they're weight rated to take 5kg+ & they should be fine.

Depends more on your preferences & budget. (carbon fibre? or how compact you want/how tall you need)

I have a Manfrotto 680B (around £40) or you can spend much more if you wanted.

Happy with my Giottos 3290 and a plain arca swiss head. It's a 5 section aluminium job. I couldn't see the point of carbon either- much more expensive and little weight saving. I'd also happily use the metal one as a walking pole/bludgeon.

I picked up a Sirui P-306 for it's compact size... quite impressed with it, especially given the price. (my other monopods are Gitzos aluminum/CF)

As above, depends on budget. I picked up a second hand Gitzo GM5561T off eBay for less than a hundred. Light, strong and compact, it was a massive improvement on my previous Manfrotto scaffold pole.
