I posted my site up a while back, and have actioned some issues brought to my attention.

The idea is to have a rolling blog type front end, a coppermine gallery with paypal integrated so people can buy prints.

Having done so I'd appreciate any more critique.

It works for what its for but personally Id like to see a new logo.

I'm not a graphic designer for sure. I did like the concept of the adler typeface relating to my URL. Any tips as to how i'd make it look better.

When you go into (eg) the mountain bike section the logo gets much bigger and moves. Try and make it consistent: 1) if set up properly, the browser only loads the image the first time, so the subsequent pages load faster, and 2) it looks more professional.

Also, I'd always try and make the logo line up with something so it feels connected, and maybe not so big - it's quite bold as it is anyway.

On the opening page on my macbook it is on the left of the screen. I'd either justify it left to the central column of your site, or keep it well left as you have, but try and get the right side to line up with something - maybe the edge of the photo if it wasn't going to keep changing... Just looks a bit detached at the mo.

Also, maybe have a look at cheating the Q a bit - it's a bit uncomfortable to me and puts the visual emphasis on the Photo. To my mind a logo ought to read - as from left to right. Emphasis should be with the Q (or de-emphasise the Ph), but that's my opinion!

One other thing - your site is clean, but would adding a very small accent colour add some impact? I'm talking subtle here - just a small detail.

What do the others think? RTJ?

Yeah Mustard,

I totally agree with the positioning of the Logo at the top of the page it needs to stay consistent If you manage to keep the whole page consistent it looks a lot more professional and just gives it that edge over stuff moving around, resizing and loading again.

I know alot of people will leave sites within a few seconds if something as simple as that is wrong/not working properly.

Do that and you should be off.

New logo, it doesn't fit with the site. Aligned as others have said to the central column.

Navigation bar on all pages, including the gallery. The gallery just looks a little messy to me. Needs to be simpler. If I click on the logo in any page i expect it to take me back to the home page.

If I am totaly honest, if I was on a site like that I would not buy a print. It just does not look a professional enough site for me to want to risk even using PayPal on. It just needs a little tweaking and I am sure you will be there with it though. Sorry if I sound harsh, but just being 100% honest

The logo on your website doesn't click. :)

Didn't mean to upset you, but just giving honest feedback.

No offence taken. I'm just scrapping the logo as we speak, and for now going with a clicky text link.

Aha - new logo - clean! And lined up with the rest - good!

It does make the site look more professional than before - but I still think you could add a bit of impact to the site by adding a very small accent somewhere - either with the logo in a very subtle way, or by just adding perhaps a line or something. For example, the orange in the tiny rss feed logo top right works very well with the greys!

Nothing major - just a detail so as not to take over from the shots. But very good, useable site - I like it.

Just my 2p
