Hi,

Has anyone ever shot at Mount Panorama?
What length Lenses are recommended?

I have
11-16mm f2.8
16-85mm f3.5 - 5.6 (my travel lens)
35mm f1.8
50mm f1.8
70-200 f2.8
120-300mm f2.8
1.4x TC

Tempted to take the two longer reaching lenses plus the TC. Then have my 16-85mm travel lens which will be fine for static pit lane work and general snapping.

Any tips or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I'd question whether you need both the 120-300mm f2.8 and the 70-200mm f2.8. There's a lot of overlap between those lenses. I'd be tempted to take the 16-85mm for wide angle stuff, super slow pans etc. The 120-300mm for usual motorsport stuff and then the 1.4TC for if you need a bit more reach. Then why not throw the 50mm f1.8 in for driver portraits etc. I love using my 50mm for pitlane work.

I'll play- love Bathurst and many years ago took my then GF on a long detour while on holiday just so we could do a couple of laps in our hire car (60kmh :-() and visit the museum.

A trip round the circuit on the roof of the Google car would seem to show lots of raised spectator areas that would give a view over the fence.

Unless you have some type of pit or paddock access I wouldn't be bothering with anything too wide, but a look on Flickr shows some nice "view" shots as the view down from the mountain is rather nice.
