Mounting Prints

I am looking to mount some prints for display/exhibiting with a window cut-out and was wondering what people use for a backing - do you use hardboard, stiff cardboard or what. Also how do you fix the backing?
Any help appreciated.

I use a backing board made out of the same material as the mount and fix the 2 together with acid free double sided tape.

I use barrier board which helps keep moisture away from the print, its cheaper than mountboard and made for the job, plus its PH neutral.

Thanks for the feedback Ian and Mark . I have not come across barrier board before so will have to investigate.

Self adhesive foamboard. Usually made in 3 or 5mm, lightweight and strong. Not cheap though.

I'm just digging up this thread to ask where do you get your non acidic tape from as I'm struggling to find any?
