Apologies if this is in the wrong place. Just looking for some help.

I have a friend who is interested in becoming a Make Up Artist and I'm after any hints, tips or resources to help get her started. She is looking at doing a course at a major London school (can't recall the name but quite exclusive apparently) which will cost a fair bit so she's trying to do as much homework as possible before embarking on this.

Make up is a difficult field to start off, and takes a lot of understanding of light, colours, desired effects, etc, etc. There are plenty of books, videos and online tutorials. Get the knowledge first, then put it to practice.

Offering free service on PS and MM is all good and well, so long as they can offer something of value. If just a pure practice, then friends and family members would be the better choice, IMO.

It was more about the best ways to get the knowledge or any knowledgable sources to get started on (forums, etc).
