Hi Dave,
It's NOT text speak. It's internet slang. It's rarely funny, not very clever, and I wish I wasn't responsible for dragging this topic so far away from reality we're in Douglas Adams territory.
Of all the mutilations of the English language that have surfaced on the Internet, the abuse of the word "win" would surely count as one of the very worst. The word "win" was originally a verb, so grammatically correct use would be "I hope that I will win the competition." However, its usage has changed over the years, as internet users of various web forums began using it as a noun, referring to something as being "full of win," as an adjective, such as saying, "This is win," or even as a general exclamation of disgust by saying quite simply, "WIN." The word "fail" is also used in the same context.
I hope this is helpful, and apologies once again to the OP for being an idiot.
