My dream camera back in the day

Nice.

But you're clearly very young. Mine was the Nikon F2 photomic.
I now own two. Sadly I don't use them enough.
 
Nice but bulky, mine was the Pentax Spotmatic, never actually got one, but I do have a SP500, which I bought about 1967 .still going strong although like Trevor,s Nikon dosnt get enough use.
 
Mine was the Nikon F5. Got to own one eventually (and it didn't disappoint), just at the time when digital (and the D1 and D100) was taking over the world and slowly phasing out most analogue photography.

It's amazing how we ever shot back then with just 5 AF points and film speed at ISO400 or grainy ISO1600 :p

Although to be fair when I first got into photography in the early 70's my dream camera then was a Zenith EM with built in light meter !

The Spotmatic was my first SLR. It was around my neck when my nose was pressed up against the glass of the Wallace Heaton shop. Obviously ogling the out of reach F2.

Having started out with a Canon AE-1 in 1978 I bought at T-90 when they came out and used it for years until the lure of digital became too much and I bought an Eos 40D in 2007 or thereabouts.

I still have the T-90 but it never gets used :(

I absolutely loved that camera, the "melted camera" as my friend used to call it because of the appearance of the top of the camera.

If you look at the features of this camera, especially in terms of the control layout i think you could argue its the fore runner of all the EOS cameras that came after.

had a pair of EOS1v's and a EOS3 as backup BITD... Sold them all when I stopped doing pro gigs, but bought another EOS-3 a few years ago, would have bought a 1v in a heartbeat, but the prices of the bodies at that time were probably more than the digital Body I was using at the time... And now, I simply don't shoot enough 35mm (indeed I don't shoot enough ANYTHING at the moment) to justify buying a 1v body... much as I'd love to have one in the bag.
 
Pentax 67system for me, the actual grip for this 35mm on steroids camera was real wood, chunky with obscene quality in the day. My brother owned two of them along with a Sinar P2 and a full Mamiya RZ67 system for his photographic studio. Thought I'd died and went to heaven when I viewed them all. And a complete Pro Nikon 35mm set-up with numerous lenses and many F bodies, outstanding camera porn to be honest.

Astonishingly wonderful.

I have the 67 system with the wooden handle and 4 lenses = 3 viewfinders :cool:
 
Olympus OM-2 was my favourite film camera, small & light. I still have my Nikon F100, it hasn't seen a film since it was rebuilt after I dropped it in Amsterdam in 2003.
 
Contax RTS for me.

I had a couple of Contax 139s and a Yashica.

I now have a few Contax RTSs , an RTS II, 2 x 139s, 2 x 137 MAa a 137MD, and 2 x 139s (and a few Yashica FR1s just in case :) )

I'm also expanding my Collection of Zeiss lenses...
 
My dream camera was the Spotmatic (I seem to be in good company here!) which cost about 6 weeks gross pay so I bought a Zenit E instead. Now I have three Spotmatics which would get used but I bought an MX which is my go-to camera.
 
Mine was a mamiya RZ67 Pro II. Was unobtainable for most of that time as I was too young and it was astronomically expensive. I finally got one last year after nearly 20 years of hankering.
