I have now decided, I am going to get the Nikon D60.

I have been reading reviews on it, And it looks like the perfect camera to start off with :)

Question is do YOU think its a good choice, Just want to know considering you have all been there and done it :)

Thanks guys.

All I can say is don't buy any camera without getting to handle it first - you're hopefully going to spend a long time with the camera in your hands - it's important that it "feels right". There's very few bad camera's out there - some may be better value for money at a certain price point but real turkeys are rare. In my opinion, you'll get better shots from the camera that works best for you - mainly because you'll use it more, and that'll increase your shots taken, and by weight of numbers, your keepers.

Exactly as TheBigYin says..it needs to feel right in your hands. Don't think you will get better advice than the post above.

I agree with Big Yin too.

I had been thinking of getting a DSLR for two years and my friend has a D300, I took some shots with it at a party. It felt lovely and solid (I'd been using an F4 for ages before) with nice controls and easy to use. I was going to buy a Nikon D90 went into a local shop and it didn't feel right. I had to continue saving up for a camera I was going to be happy using that felt right.

Worth a look and handle it's your money that's going to be spent (unless it's a present from someone)

same for guitars and basses...if it feels right it is right

dont go getting dragged along by styling, techno hype, and who uses the thing...other than you

Yes i must say I agree too, I have fairly large hands. Has anyone ever handled a Nikon D60?
