Had ordered my new 400mm lens just over a week now. Just waiting for that extra bit of cash to send the seller so i could get the lens in my hand! I was sooooo excited! Went for a walk over Cannock Chase to try and find good birding spots to go.. Got out of the car and saw 2 woodpeckers. My girlfriend screamed "WOODPECKERS!". I was like "Shhhhh!!!!" Whipped out my scrawny 50mm and captured the moment.

Spot the pecker :)

Ended getting lost with the Mrs.. After about 9 miles of rain i was ready for committing murder! But was still a fun day out i guess! Had never seen a woodpecker before so that was really nice to see!

The day was finally here! My 400mm came! Never been thrilled! Checked it all out and was in completely mint condition! Popped my shoes on then straight out to my local nature reserve just round the corner from me. It had been raining the night before pretty heavy sooo the grass was really bogged! So im there walking up the bank and nearly slip, Was thinking how close that was! I finally got up the little hill to only go down another one! This time was hilarious! Theres me sliding down this extremely muddy bank trying to save my new lens that was on one of the worse tripods man could make! After sliding halfway down the hill.. I stood back up laughing to my self.. Then it happened again! Haha. Im laughing at just writing this! My back and jeans were completely covered in mud! I was wondering what the guy walking past was thinking! Would of been hilarious to see! BUT that never stopped me from taking photos! I got a half decent picture of a Dunnock! This was one of the first pictures i took and very pleased with it!

Soo, i got a couple of shots i wanted and decided to head back home since i was going out in a few hours. Theres me walking down the street covered in mud, freezing and laughing to my self. Wonder what people thought ha. Anyways got back home, uploaded the Dunnock, got some really positive feedback from it which made me over the moon! Overall was a day to remember! :)

On the 6th at work i really hurt my back somehow.. It just give up on me! Was horrible! All i could think about was my photography day id planned for the today! But saw someone post on here that there was 1 day remaining left for the Focus on imaging at the NEC. Called my mate and we both headed over there. All i can say is what a brilliant day! Was there for about 5 hours! must of walked 5 miles with a half broken back ha. Was hunting for the Canon 200-400L The man said there were only 2 in the world and that was one of them. Not sure if thats true or not. Anyways.. After having a go i pass it to my friend. When he puts it down. Its on a slant and nearly falls off the edge of the table! :S. I grabbed it just in time or else we would of had a very unhappy Canon rep infront of us!

I was determind to get something from there as there were some quite cheap stuff! I decided on a back pack cause i was struggling to carry all my equipment when going out! I chose the Lowepro Flipside 400AW. Very nice bag! Helps you carry stuff so much easier and when wanting to get something out it just flips to the front of you and opens from the back without having to actually take the backpack off which is always good! Another great day out!
