My New Editing Set Up!!

Just finished setting up my shiny new 27" iMac and had to tell someone as the wife is out tonight and i'm not sure she'd be that interested!

Thought about getting a bigger monitor for my PC but decided to go the whole hog instead!

I wonder if it will make my photos better! lol

This is my first Mac and I must say I am loving it without wanting to sound too much like a mac fanboy!!

Anyway, off to play / install PSE 8 Trial and transfer my photos / iTunes!

Looks a bit too close to the edge of your (small) desk for my liking!

The joys of having 2 kids and hence no dedicated office! I don't think 30lbs of iMac is going to walk it's way 8-10 inches off the edge!

I will in future when I have room for a corner desk, where it is now I'd be sat with my knees touching the drawers on the desk if I swapped them.

I'm only using little monitor for iTunes / toolbars anyhow so it's all good!

It wasn't a dig at having a small desk...although the Imac does monster it. I'm sure it won't walk but there's definitely some risky looking overhang, especially if you have 2 nippers.

Lol, I know just read my response back and it does sound a bit touchy!

The kids are being kept well out of the room for now until I can blag the wife to get rid of the hostess trolley we never use so I can re-jig the dining room and get a bigger desk!

I'm not self conscious about my small desk (honest!) LOL

Is yours i5 or i7? They are seriously rapid!!

I'm working on the wife on the desk front! May have a trip to Ikea at the weekend!
Mine is the standard dual core one, still plenty fast enough though! Everything seems instant so far! 4gb ram must help it along!

The guy in the apple store talked me out of the i5/7. He said unless I was editing loads of videos I probably wouldn't notice much difference...

I agree I have the 3ghz core 2 duo with 4gb of ram and everything happens without delay!!

Mine is rapid and they are even quicker again by a big margin so I would go for it if I were you

I was sorely tempted but so far I've had PSE8, iTunes, safari and have been Copying files from an external HD all at once an not noticed any reductionin speed!

Would be good for the mines better than yours pub talks though!!

Whichever you get, you'll be chuffed!
