New Born Shoot

Hi,

A family friend has a 4-5 week old little girl and her sister would like to surprise her with some photos.

So I need basic "do's" & "do not's" and links to some inspirational shots.

If they work out it could lead to some paid jobs as we currently know 20-23 girls that are pregnant and 5 that have had babies in the last 2 months

i just did one today and i learnt that the most important thing is to listen to the mother

ask "what todo you want".... i had my ideas which i did but they have to put them on their walls......

Use your neck strap for safety when over baby, turn focus assist light off, pop in 3 times and shoot for 10min each time, consider images in B&W to reduce distractions of erratic skin colour and backgrounds. use soft daylight.

Good luck it's a tricky area where the amateur can outshine the pro 'cos a magic smile is worth 10x more than a a banal shot on a 1DS Mk!! with 100mm f2.8L!!!

The baby in the bin on this link is one you might want to run past the parents first! Quite funny though
