ok guys the time has come to get a new camera :woot: i have had a nikon and find it real simple to use (d70), i want something a little better now.
what can i get for around £600-£700 or should i spend that little more and get something better?

i dont want something that if i go buy a lens its going to cost mental money if you get me??

:help:

If you want life to remain simple, get another Nikon ;) If you can stretch your £700 a bit more you're not far away from a D300 body...

i would say a D300 to. it would mean stretching the budget slightly.

another option could be a second hand D200 (£400ish) and a nice lens or two

nikon i would rather, i did see a d700 i think i could get to that kinda cash y jan or is it not worth it?

were could i get a look at a d300?

i want something about 10mp or more i think!

or give your old camera a new lease of life with a nice expensive lens;)

That's a good point as the D70 is great wee camera, I still use one regularly, in fact if you want to add to your budget I'll give your old one a good home, always handy to have a spare (or two)

what lenses do you use now? as you may need better lenses 9depending on what yo already have) to make the most of the D300 or even D700

perhaps upgrade your kit lens to the nice 17-55 f2.8. should be under budget 2nd hand

I was using the 70-200 VR on the D70 last week and it still produces lovely sharp pics, but if you bought, say, a D300 and stuck a cheap consumer lens on it you might well be disappointed...

i got 1 sigma 70-300 and the 1 that came with the camera 18-55 i think!

with those in mind i would upgrade the glass. something like a Sigma 17-70 and a nikon 70-300 VR would be nice

and then upgrade the body later, i would always go glass, then body

Agreed, although I'd substitute the Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 for the Sigma. If the money is there I'd even be tempted to get an 80-200 f/2.8 Nikon instead of the 70-300 VR
