Yes
Just picked up one of these and theyre very nice, went for the higher spec i5 2.53 Ghz - 3.06 Ghz processor which isnt too far behing the i7

4GB DDR3 1333Mhz Ram
1440x900 W-LED Matte screen is very sexy
NVidia NVS 3100M Graphics make a vast difference over the old NV160 card
Opted for a small 160GB Hard Drive (7200RPM) with Free Fall Sensor as i use it in the field any anything is transferred to my PC later so no need for big hard drives.
Plus the usual b/tooth, WIFI etc, etc

Just fitted a 3G card so i dont need to use my dongle which frees up a USB port

Windows 7 Professional 64BIT

Spent a few hours setting up and tweaking some registry settings and it flies along

nice.. i was hoping we were going to upgrade from our E6500's to the i5 models next month when we get a new batch of laptops in, unfortunately theyre the smaller lighterweight latitudes and they'll notice if we swap ours out :(

How robust are the dells?

Looking to move to another supplier at work, but whatever we get needs to be pretty robust as not all my users treat them like they should.

very in my experience. the only total failures we've had are due to liquid spillages.. we've got old D series lat's still running that have really been through it.. the new E series seem even better.

Might get one in on eval then..... Dell are always pushing us to change over to them. See what they're like.

Forgot to add - thanks for the Info Neil

I buy all our kit from Dell. We get an average turn around of 5 working days on lappies and 7 on servers. That said, if they are trying to make their end of month numbers, I've had servers delivered next busnisess day. How much you spend with them is also a factor in determining lead times.

Just an update about this, after using this for a few days i sort of got the feeling that it just didnt feel like my old Latitude E6400 and E6500's

I started tapping it about a bit and the lid seemed to have way too much give in it and too much flex, low and behold the tight fisted sods at Dell have substituted the Magnesium Alloy lids with cheap plastic rubbish and painted then to look like brushed metal

Theres no mention about this in the official Dell paperwork so a phonecall to Dell was in order, the Dell tach guy said all Latitudes have a Magnesium Alloy chasis, base and lid, i begged to differ.

upon investigation it turns out i was right, cheap plastis, so i returned it under the DSR for a full refund.

Dont get me wrong, the machine was a seriously fast beast but out in the field i need an all metal casing.

having just taken receipt of some new 4310's ive just figured out what you mean.. you mean the outer casing of the screen that has that grey brushed effect? its certainly plastic on these models.

the 4310s are listed as "Tri-Metal" (i cant find any official statement of what that means though) however and do not mention magnesium at all (although i imagine they still have the mag/steel internal framework) however your 6410 does state its mag case and LCD back. unless its a spec error..

shame.

(worth noting though that the D series were plastic cased and were surprisingly rugged)
