Interesting idea on the ratio of the first pic and I can see why you have done it. But for me, the bottom half is just a waste as it's darker and colourless. I think it would look better at the more traditional portrait ratio so that the bottom half is lost.

The colours of the flower are lovely and bright and I am sure that there is a good picture in there, but for me, not at this ratio.
