Beginner New Gimbal.

I bought a 2nd one 5 months ago, good job it was cheap, I've never used it!

OK here it is...
The katana from Pro Media gear purchased from AJ's here in the UK. It cost a few quid but boy is it precise and well engineered.

Congratulation! :)
Yep, I know these, top drawer!

If I may share my experience…
When using a gimbal head, always remove
the centre column to either replace the original
flat plate to mount the gimbal or, better, get a
leveling base.

Have a good time!

How do I remove it?

Around the plateau, there are either Allen screws (3)
or most likely 1 big screw to release it.

On the photo, it is hidden behind the column!

I have been using the first version of this head pretty much since release and it is a superb piece of kit built to exacting and professional standards. Movements remain silky smooth with no signs of wear and tear. Remember a gimbal is not just for long lenses and if used in conjunction with a camera fitted with an L bracket it becomes an excellent multi row panorama head.

Thats a mental bit of kit. You could hang a .50 Cal rifle off that!

I do love a bit of ally porn tho, and that does look amazing - but so is the price!
