Hi all,

Just for information really but I have just picked up the new Kenko 1.4 teleconvertor and after playing about with it a little stuck it on my 150-500. At the top end of this it will not autofocus (it tries but struggles to lock on) so i looked in to this only to find the new convertor adds 2 stops of light for the 1.4x and 4 for the 2x.

Just for info really for anything thinking of getting this convertor.
 
All TC's work that way.. nothing "special" about Kenko.


You can't AF well at 500mm as the AF sensors are seeing the lens at around f/9.5, and most AF sensors need f/5.6 or better.

BTW the 1.4 loses 1 stop, not 2. The 2x loses 2 stops, not 4.
 
Thought that the 1.4s only added 1 stop and not 2?

I was hoping that with it working teh way i thought it would i might just squeeze under the limit but no chance now. Not complaining, still happy :p
