New lens for canon

Hi all, just looking for recommendations for a mid range lens for a canon 5Ds. I presently have the 24-105mm but for a while seem to be getting worse results, could possibly be because I have a new camera with a 50m pixels.
Can anyone recommend anything? I'm not sure but it looks like the 24-70 f2.8 is my best option although would be losing 30mm with my next lens being the 100-400?
Any help appreciated, Cheers Paul
 
Oops forget what I have. I also have the 16-35 and 100-400. Just wondering if the 24-70 F4 or F2.8 is the choice. I'm nearly always landscape photography and sometimes animals/planes.
 
Yep 24-70 is what u would do and perhaps a 85mm prime.....

The 24-105 is brilliant on the higher res bodies. Maybe your lens needs looking at?

(I take it you have a 5ds / r? I've used my 24-105 on a 5ds and it was superb).

As above, have you tried any other lens? It would be odd for someone with such a specialised body to only have the one lens ;)

Could you clarify "getting worse results" - worse than what? Might help diagnose the problem.
