Yes
Well it's ordered, but I made a complete cock up paying for it on Paypal and ended up paying by echeque which takes 7-10 working days to clear! :bang:

It's not the most expensve lens Canon make and certainly not the cheapest, but in many ways one of the most interesting and probably demanding too.

Anyone think they know what it is? Dazzajl, Canon Bob and Monkeydave are banned from this game as they know the answer.

First person with the correct answer gets to nip round Bod's for a go on his Wiiiiiiiiiiiiii! :D

I'm waiting for someone to tell me I could have got 90% of what this lens does for a fraction of the price and less weight with the 85mm 1.8. They'd be right too.

Well, I'm pretty well OK for my wildlife stuff Ally, so I'm looking at the slightly neglected end of my range. It's a superb portrait lens obviously, but it's also great for plucking people/ subjects out of a busy bg.

I'm not expecting it to be an easy lens to use - the AF is slow compared to the cheaper 1.8 version, but when you really nail the focus wide open at 1.2 it can make the busiest bg either disappear altogether or mix it down to something resembling an impressionist painting.

Looking forward to your posts once you get this (y)

Mine's come via the USA, so saved about 300 quid on the WE price!
