There is £140 difference when you equalise the hard drives, the memory is the same at 2Gb. There are more differences than just memory size and hard drive size though. The macbook is plastic whilst the pro is aluminium. The pro has other advantages just check of the side by side specs.

i've not checked it out but the new macbook is polycarbonate unibody, whatever that is

The cheapest macbook is white plastic like all the macbook were. After that they become aluminium.

they have just replaced the old plastic white one with a newer white one

I know, that is what I was saying. It is a re-inforced polycarbonate shell. Much more rigid than the older one and it also has the battery inside it like the other unibodies although the battery that is inside is very easy to get at just 8 screws I think. 7 hours from the white one is not bad!

had a look at this today at apple store

yes i can see it may scratch easier, but £100 cheaper and with 90gb more harddrive is tempting me again more

ok so it doesn;t have:
- aluminium body (make sure i look after the white one more, save £100)
- firewall (not used this before)
- sd card reader (can get an external plug for sub £10)

arrh choices
