New Tamron 'USD' 70-300mm

Looks like Tamron aren't going to miss the opportunity .....they have just launched this lens http://nikonrumors.com/2010/08/10/t...usd-lens-for-nikon-mount-announced-again.aspx which is also on their website. At last they now have an Ultrasonic motor......might improve the focussing speed on some of their lenses. Looks like it 'might' be a reasonable competitor to the Nikon 70-300mmVR. Pricing is reckoned to be $449 less $50 in the Us so I guess about £375 here maybe? Has to less than the Nikon at least.

Not sure why you are linked to a rumour site - its not a rumour..! Tamron anounced it ages ago.

Was trying to link to the UK Tamron site but couldnt...only to their home page, hence the 'its also on their website'.
