nice clean layout but took ages to load here, especially the thumbs page. suggest you lose the email link in its current format as it will get picked up by spammers.

Just 2 or 3 things you might(or not) think about

It wasn't clear to me that it was the home page which came up first.
I like to know what I'm looking at so perhaps a title of brief commentary might be appropriate.
Continually scrolling up and down to find the next key is irritating-can you find a way to keep them in the same place?

Otherwise, a very nicely laid out site:thumbs:
 
Nice clean look, but the images are a bit slow to load and I'm on a 20mbit connection, so I wouldn't be encouraged to hang around too long waiting usually.
 
Its getting there. I would dump the following code at the top of your css though;

html **
height:100%;
margin: 1px;
**


That will force the page to be 1px taller than the browser so the scrollbar is always there. This will stop the page from 'jumping' slightly when the comments open up.

Edit (replace the ** with curly brackets. Forum is changing it for some reason.
 
Hi,

Asking for comments invites "train crash" posting but hey, it's fun isn't it?

Negatives:

The default font size on the about page is too small, specifically the script font for the section staring "My name is". Script fonts are hard to read at the best of times, so why make it harder by making the text size small?

The text needs a bit of work too -

"I have been taking pictures since I can remember really, but only for fun since I was about fourteen years old."

You are missing the word ever and using "really" is not best practice - it implies that you don't know.

"I currently reside in the Midlands in England." Especially with the word "really" (see above) you have two contrasting styles of English here - a formal "Reside" and an informal vacillation "remeber eally". Also two instances of the word in - not good style wise.

"I hope you enjoy my site and feel free to get in contact if you're interested in my work."

I would write "I hope you enjoy my site; please feel free to contact me if you're interested in my work."

Positives:

10/10 for the over all look and feel. I like it - the background colour is an unusual choice but does work. :agree: with the comment about the home page; I wondered if I had landed on the home page or not.

Thanks MK and Ben, I agree with you both on what you say and the things you've mentioned should be easy enough to implement.

Also with the about page, it's not really finished yet, probably needs to be a bit longer and less boring. Agree with you on text size as well, the font isn't that clear either.

I love the comments script, and the site look very nice and clean. I do agree with the text being to small on the about page.

I didn't find the images load to slow at all on my 4meg line.
