Nifty Fifty and a D90?

Simple answer is yes ! The DoF and image quality is stunning ! It will never give you wide angles and you will need to use your feet to zoom - however for just over £100 that is a more than acceptable compromise imho.

When I had my a200 + 50mm, I very rarely used it.

But I really like the 50mm on the D90 and find I use it quite a bit.

Got mine from Kerso for about £105 delivered.

Another vote for the 35mm prime on the D90, It was equally good when on my D40 too. Its a craking lens.

Depends what you want to use the lens for. The crop factor will give you 75mm FOV on the D90. This is a good focal length for indoor portraits. For an all round lens, 35mm would be better (and more expensive)
As I mentioned in your other thread, my 50mm f1.8 D picked up secondhand for £55 in mint condition has been an absolute bargain.

I found the 50 a tad too long for indoor shots, and got a 35. Sharp enough for me and focal length is just about right.

Hmmm yes, but I'm famous for my unsteady hand and have a habit of dropping things :shake:

Nearly dropped my Sigma 10-20mm on Sunday, thats not so bad but I was standing on the very edge of a resevoir at the time  !!! Lens was saved but I got a muddy arse in the scramble to catch it :)
