Interesting comment, though I can't understand it or relate to it :)

I have no idea what people look for, or what other factors come into making their choices, or whether you can actually work towards improving your "rating", I like the idea because it is interesting to see what people come up with.
I vote based very loosely on whether it fits the theme, and if I want to see the image again, but I am no good at picking "winners" as I didn't vote for any of the top 6 scorers, and the total votes for the three I voted for was 7 :D

But it is enjoyable, if it was serious I wouldn't bother. I have entered a couple of times before, but i honestly can't remember if they got any votes.

FWIW I liked your shot and the imagination behind it. You were just unfortunate that there were stronger images in there (and there were a lot of strong images).
 
I mostly shot with my "nifty 35" today, in black and white, then got home and kicked myself for mainly shooting black and white when the theme was "colour". fortunately we're in November now I found a shot that sort of works for "symmetry".
 
have to admit, I struggled a little for ideas on this one. But got there this morning :)

I've had my eyes peeled for symmetrical stuff all month but nothing has worked out. Finally got a shot this week, in a hotel room in Carmarthen. This was my first attempt, but I think it's even less interesting than the one I've gone with; and I'm not sure if the square crop would be allowed either...

How important is the poll?

Is it part of playing along or would you still join in without one?

Would more join if there was no poll?

Whilst I like having the poll I would still join without one.

I think the poll is a good part of it, it's nice to see how opinions differ and try and work out what others see in an image.

Although I think it`s nice to have a poll. For me it doesn`t mater that much if we don`t. But if we do, I think it would be handy if it was put up top with all the other voting shizz. Just need a mod to deal with it.
