OK, im new to Nikon and have been looking at the macro range, particularly the 105 macro 2.8 Vr

Now, on Calumet website they list 2 different versions.. at 2 VERY different prices!

I cant see the difference!!!

Have they made a mistake?

Jacobs list only one, at the higher price.. :gag:

Can someone please tell me what the difference between the two are?? :bang:

Here and Here

They are both listed as VRII so its not that one has the older Vr unless there is a mistake..

Ebay are listing the VrII at the lower price at Calumet..

Neither of them make much sense - there is only 1 VR version and it's never been £1k. You can buy it for less though.

Obviously a mistake.

I know.. thats why im thinking its a mistake.. the camera pricebuster list it as low as £500ish up to £1000.. Jacobs are at the higher end too.. but Jessops, are the lower price.. i think there is something amiss here.. lol.

Prices on CameraPriceBuster are quite in order with the normal range. Only the Calumet £1k price is an error.

It has Nikon's Version II of VR, it is not the second version of that lens.

There is only 1 version. It has VR II. Red VR lettering on the barrel. Anyone saying otherwise or claiming
to be selling something else is talking rhubarb.

They have just got the description and picture wrong.

The £999 lens has a Nikon part number of JAA619AA. According to the official Nikon UK price list this is the non VR version:
JAA619AA 105MM F2.8 MICRO-NIKKOR LENS A £1046.99

The VR version is:
JAA630DA 105MM AF-S VR II F2.8D MICRO NIKKOR LENS £679.99

bloody hell Tony , you bin an nicked a nikon from someone ?

very old school professionals

So old school in fact that they clearly are not aware of CameraPriceBuster, and the internet in general and continue to price their used goods at amazingly silly prices ;)

True. You do get the occasional reasonably priced lens though. I think i got my nifty fifty for £45 in mint condition with a years warranty.

If they state it as mint they mean mint. ;)
