Nikon 17-35mm Lens Problem

I've had this lens for about 8 months and suddenly it produces these over-exposed pictures. I have been racking my brains before thinking that I'd changed a setting in the camera but tried a 50mm fixed lens on there and you can see the difference.

Any thoughts please before I send it to Nikon for repair? Many thanks in advance

You seem to have stripped most the EXIF from the pictures so its a bit hard to comment - please upload again with full EXIF (use ViewNX or Capture NX to convert if you shot raw)

Probably a stuck aperture - I guess at f/2.8 wide open the exposures are fine, but get more over-exposed as you stop down?
 
Does the viewfinder view get darker when you have an aperture of, say ƒ/8 set, and press the DOF button? Any sign of oil on the aperture blades (which may cause them to stick)?
 
I'm uploading straight from Lightroom and don't have those programs (sorry). I have unchecked the Minimise Metadata button so hopefully you can now see more of this

I think you might be onto something. I have tried rotating the aperture ring (its usually locked down and the D3s controls this) and its very "sticky"

Thanks, middle two are both 1/160 second, same aperture.. you need to get it serviced, the aperture blades are sticking, you probably have oil on them slowing them down.
 
Looks to me like you havent changed any settings moving from one lens to the other.
By that i mean most likely the ISO.
 
I cant see anything out the ordinary in the EXIF.
Also just noticed that the 17-35 was the one with the over exposed images.
Concur with Puddleperson. Needs a service.
 
Thanks! Make a lot of sense given what I've been seeing. I'll send off to Nikon tomorrow :)
 
Just as a final "belt & braces" check before I send off, am I right in thinking that if I take off the rear and front lens covers and twist the aperture ring then I should see it opening and closing? It doesn't by the way

Yes, it should move.

Try moving the aperture lever with a pen tip, it should snap right back. If it doesn't or it sticks, it definitely oil which leaked down from the helicoils.
 
PS: You should always store Nikon lenses with rear mount upwards to prevent this. If you store lens rear end down, gravity will pull oil onto the blades after an extended period.
