Hi does anyone have one of these,i am hoping to upgrade from my 70mm-300mm VR in the near future and would like some comments please. The lens will mainly be used for bird photography.
Sharp wide open, fast to focus, works great with the TC14EII, and works just as well with the TC17EII, it retains auto focus with both TC,s.

Superb lens, great image quality, nice weight, mine got a lot of use for birding with the TC14EII, until I got the 200-400VR, however it is my lens of choice if I want to travel light.
Just about sums it up, I wish i`d have kept mine, but there you go............:bang:

They are leagues apart
the 300mm AF-S is stunning, best lens I have used and thats saying something (Better IMO than a 70-200 VR)
The one with the "focus problems" ?![]()
Even though I do really need to be shifting all my Nikon gear I'm having a hard time letting this (and my AI-S primes) go![]()
