I have set up my camera on CCP2.0 to take several snaps without any break in the middle but I'm consistently getting gaps of 2-4 seconds between snaps even with the flash off, the lens set to manual focus and the checkbox checked for it not to refocus between shots.

Any idea how I can reduce the time between shots or is this just a limitation of SLRs?

Does setting the camera to continuous shooting make any difference, or will it just shoot at max frame rate.

The URL contained a malformed video ID.

malformed..?..malformed, who dreams up these ridiculous phrases :cuckoo:

The edited link should now work.

And no, the shutter speed is low and the continuous shooting mode doesn't make a difference. The delay appears to be in saving the files to the hard disk.

What are the delay increments, maybe its confused with absolutely no delay in a time lapse scenario, time lapse has gaps, try putting the shortest delay available.
If that doesn't do anything, its not buffering and the limiting factor is the software.

its still malformed btw

It must be the software. A one or two second gap still doesn't get adhered to. Thanks all the same.

The link definitely works now. That bleedin' question mark!
