Anyone got one?..Quite fancy getting one just for a bit of fun.Considering the zoom range images dont look that horrendous.

Not got one yet as just got a d90 and new lens but still may get one.

I just bought one. zoom is nice indeed but picture quality is, well a bit above average IMO. maybe it's because I'm used to 7D? If you look at the photos without cropping they look nice and clear but if you want to crop even a bit, you can see that detail is gone. Zoom is rather slow and AF as well. Image stabiliser is not that bad but if you zoom to the max you'll struggle. It doesn't have a RAW mode either. ISO can be expanded to 12800 but personally, I wouldn't go anywhere above ISO 400.
I didn't try video mode yet but intersting mode for me is HS 120 which enables you to record movies with 120 FPS. This camera is loaded with really useful features and it takes time to get used to all of them. 42x zoom has some negative effect on IQ as expected but I was expecting a bit more from Nikon. I think Panasonic FZ-150 still has the edge(apart from the zoom).
If you want it just for fun and have around £260 spare(second hand) then go for it. It will definitely give you lot of joy.

Apologies only just seen this reply and thankyou for responding.Still seriously thinking about getting one of these! Just stumbled upon a guys photostream on flickr that uses this camera and the shots are fantastic!.

I have the Nikon P510 great portable camera which as captured some awesome shots, its got a really simple menu and control and the 42 x Zoom is just fun to have! Its very light weight too. It struggles sometimes to focus but still a great buy imo, i got mine from amazon for £299 reduced from £399!

Thanks for the reply..have you got any images taken with it that you could post up?
