Nikon D4x Design Concept by Mark Levinson

god I hope not - my D3 is wonderful compared to that! Ugly is too nice.

Looks damn uncomfortable to hold but then "design" concepts are usually a bit odd.

A D4x with pop up flash????

Oh and Note the stress on not affiliated with Nikon.

Wonder if that's the same Mark Levinson who designs high end hi-fi equipment.

Perhaps Canon are next. Maybe it will fire iron balls out the end?

Would love to see what the actual official Nikon concept is - probably won't look that different to a regular camera.

That is a crappy concept though; think Mr Levinson might be a grad student who's not yet quite there yet....

Note that this concept was created by a designer who is not affiliated to Nikon.

should have gone to specsavers?

Mark Levinson tended to put his name to most of the stuff sold under his name. I liked his "Rose" branded stuff as it was ok value for money
Give me Conrad any day over levinson

Isn't that in a way quite similar to the Hassleblad H series camera.... Not exactley the same I know but along the same lines as in shape wise if you know what I mean...

It looks like something you'd see on a dodgy 1960/70's Sci-Fi series like Space 1999.....

Hopefully Nikon will continue ther relationship with Giorgetto Giugiaro's Italdesign rather than adopt the Levinson design...

Designed by Sharashka :D

Not my cup of tea either, but top marks for thinking outside the box on ergonomics. There's not much need to base a DSLR around a film loading design from way back, perhaps people should think from the ground up, even if it does raise a few eyebrows.

It is interesting to consider a 'blue sky' design as often things have complex historic and economic connections that make the product, while comprehensible to buyers, far less ideal than they could be. Not just cameras that are shaped to direct light at film that is not used - consider motorcycles that you sit on in a bicycle peddling position....

I'd like to hold it and see if it works. It can't be much worse than the bulging Frankenstein SLR bodies that are being currently marketed.

Interesting take if it is Mark Levinson of Red Rose Music doing a camera design :)

His amps are good stuff, but you can't go wrong with Lavardin, Conrad Johnson or Audio Research.

it's a massive fail, seriously the massive differences between the pro/amateur models is the inclusions of buttons for everything rather than a menu based system

this dude just clearly hasn't considered the end user, a trait all too common with industrial designers these days

But he does appear to be good at getting people to talk about him, or is he Max Clifford?

Christ on a bike!

If you gave an infinity amount of monkeys an infinite amount of time, they'd be hard pushed to top that monstrosity.

I have one of his amps, and the design (and sound) is beautiful. I very much doubt it

I used to have one of his cd players, engineering was top notch and exquisite sound, and built to last a lifetime or two.

I won't say how much it cost. :(

Anyone realise the blatantly obvious at first and realise a) there is no way Mark Levinson would create something so ridiculously ugly and b) The link shows 'Marc' Levinson, not Mark Levinson. Thank god.
