Nikon D7000 DXOMark

For those interested geeks like me, DXO Labs have scored the new sensor.

It comes out VERY well indeed, and is very close to the performance of the Pentax K-5 with great colour, dynamic range and fantastic high ISO performance. Looking forward to the Sony a580 review now, which again uses the same sensor, apparently

It should be the same seeing as its the same sensor from Sony.

DxO is pointless measureabating tbh.. IMHO they invented it just to get their name out to sell their sucky raw conversion software.

There's a mass debate going on over on DPR about this, I cba reading it all but it would appear the detail shows something a bit different to the overall scores, I guess its a case of right tools for the job and all that at the end of the day.

That whole forum is a joke.

I have never seen so many insecure camera owners in one place.

And I don't just mean the Nikon section, the Pentax bit is just as bad.

The Micro Four Thirds forum is also ridiculous - it's a shame because there is some useful info sometimes buried amongst all the whining and arguing. CBA with it any more really.

Re the DXO Mark score - not sure if it means much - D7000 does look good though.

Nice step forward for APS-C cameras! It's good to know (sony's ) technology is still advancing.
