hah, even if I was feeling that rich, I think the 200 would be too long for the most part
And Jeff Capes.
I like the 135mm. Well, like what i have seen from it. I 'imagine' it would sit well with the rendering of the 58. A very classic look to the final image. Could be way off the mark though.
I can't decide whether to get a second D750 or a D800 for my second body.
I really struggled with the D800. Focusing especially on both D800s I owned wasn't great. If it was a second-hand d810 v a new d750 it would be more of a dilemma, but for me the D750 is miles better than the D800.
Yeah, the old nikons render nicely, not the sharpest because of it though and you are pretty accurate with your comparison in terms of OOF from what Ive seen. CA/Flare would likely be an issue that the 58 shouldnt show. I wish they would update the 135 to look like the new Gs with better AF and coatings, optical design can stay the same...... or Sigma would pull their finger out.
I have the 135 DC, and I love it.
I hear so many saying it's not very sharp. It is ! It takes a bit of getting used to to get the best out of it, but sharpness is there.

It is well known for needing to be AF micro-adjusted, mine is on +18 on my D700.
Also, the DC lenses render skin tones in a way no other lenses do because they are designed to shift the focus of the red wavelength slightly, relative to the blue and green,
If they ever modernise this lens, (or the 105DC), I'm pretty sure it would have less CA, but lose this special quality.
So I, personally, wouldn't swap my 135DC for a newer model if ever it comes along.
Can't wait to get it on a D750 though. Soon.
If you send it to me I'll get it on a D750 for you straight away...
I want to try some land & sea scapes with my new (SH) Tamron 19-35mm when the weather gets a little better (might be waiting a while), so I need a remote of some sort. Anyone have any suggestions/recommendations please.
Your phone and the Nikon app?
Or timer or Nikon ML-L3?
I had the ML-L3 but you can't use burst shooting with it so bought this which I find excellentI want to try some land & sea scapes with my new (SH) Tamron 19-35mm when the weather gets a little better (might be waiting a while), so I need a remote of some sort. Nope, but I find burst mode useful for bracketing.Doubt he'll be needing 6.5fps for land/seascapes
