Not sure how to interpret that [emoji12]Going to the Lake District in August. Thinking I will definitely want to have picked up something wide by then!

The 18-35mm G is sharper but at the sacrifice of 1mmI picked up the 17-35 and love it

Ahh, didn't know he wanted a wide apertureIt's not fixed F stop though is it?

Ahh. It’s a great lens by all accounts.Ah he might not, I just meant I went to for the 17-35 because of the F2.8

I’m going to have to google that now Is it as ridiculous as the 24-70mm hood? And comes in the most ridiculous lens case.

Edit: Just seen the case, tbh that’s what I’d expect with all of Nikon’s pro lenses rather than the less protective thick material ones.
Yeah. Obviously they’re better than the soft cloth ones you get with non pro lenses, but for the price of the 24-70 and 70-200mm for example you’d expect something much more robust.Well true, there is something disappointing about spending so much on a lens and it coming with a cloth bag

Award for ridiculous lens hood... 16-80 is surely a contender!!
I liked the 16-80 hood, especially the bit which you had to press down to release it.
Sold it though but is a very versatile lens
In the old days even cheap lenses came in hard 'leather' cases.Yeah. Obviously they’re better than the soft cloth ones you get with non pro lenses, but for the price of the 24-70 and 70-200mm for example you’d expect something much more robust.
@JJ! Are you after a zoom or fixed focus?
I still haven’t decided lol. Probably the 18-35 as it’s a bit more versatile.

My little one, well if 12's little plays with them at Reddicth Utd, their Dad trains the U12's.
Have you bought one?
Yep! It's *really* nice.
Also really heavy.
Want one!! Keep thinking of chopping the 85 in for one.
The 85 is the only one of mine I want to upgrade now

Haven’t used mine for months until this week. Just the focus accuracy isn’t as good as the rest, but when you do nail it . It’s too handy a FL to give up though.
Which one are you using at the moment?
I was thinking something similar, currently using 1.4D which is ruddy nice, but does need abit of a contrast boost at times
85 is bloody nice, is it the 1.8G you’re using at the moment?
