Nikon software?

Hi all,

I have recently bought a Nikon D5000, which comes with a software CD, but doesn't say anything about my operating system, which is Windows 7.

I have contacted Nikon support, who were some what helpful and replied saying that all software is compatible with Windows 7 and to download it straight from their site and have given me the following links, but I don't know what software to install?

I have been given the above links, can anyone tell me what software I need to install?

What do you want the software to do?

Nikon Transfer is used to transfer files from your camera to computer.
VIEW NX is for viewing jpeg and Nef files - and some editing I think - they are noth FREE.

Capture NX is Nikon's editing programme - you can d/l a free trial then buy if you want to use it.

Control pro is an expensive way to shoot tethered!

Try a trial of Lightroom 3 - MUCH better than all of the above!

1 or 2... I don't know if one would be for 64bit or 32bit ops...mark

Have you gone to the d/l pages in the links and read what it says? It must tell you there I would think.

If you use Lightroom or Bridge you dont need to download any. Both these programs will convert the NEF Raw files and let you edit.

I have the D5000 and just installed the software. It works for me, and Im using the 32 bit version of Windows 7.

Yeah, just fired it in and installed all the software on there, works for me

in windows 7 , you can run software in xp compatibilty mode

have you tried this, it worked with my scanning software
