Nikon TC-14E body cap - silly question (probably)

I have just got a Nikon TC-14E (AF-I) 1.4x (ebay purchase) & it doesn't have any caps with it - just the soft leather case...

I am wanting to know which front end cap will fit this i.e camera body cap or are they a different fit all together..

I know it may sound a silly request but just thought that I'd ask :$..
 
Propietary Nikon body-cap and rear lens cap fit perfectly - it's what they originally come with, although some used to come with the white opaque plastic caps. Not seen those for a while.

Let me know if you get stuck...
 
The front cap is different to a body cap. You need the specific BF-3A grey TC cap.

Rear cap is standard.
 
Thanks Guys.... It seems that its a BF-3A - I've plenty of rear end caps - :eek: also seems like that SRS are the only ones who stock it :bang: at least they dont charge over the top postage neither :lol:
 
Funny...I have a TC-17E II with a regular body-cap on it...:shrug:
 
Weird, just looked at mine properly - body cap definitely doesn't fit. Looking at the two caps the BF-3A is noticeably deeper and one of the three sections that sticks out of the circular shape is smaller than the other two which corresponds to where it fits into the metal mount.

Mine is a 17E too. Sir Rockwell says the same on his site for the 14E and 17E.
 
Did try my D300s body cap - but it doesn't fit, infact it doesn't even get close - So I've ordered a BF-3A from SRS £7.99 delivered...

Weird as it came with the soft leather case but no caps....

Sorted now, so now it'll have to stay on the lens till the caps delivered

edit: well was sorted til the email saying that its out of stock :bang:
 
I've just been and looked and you're quite right - it just looked 'a bit' similar - shows how bloody observant I am then...:shrug: :lol:

Soz.. don't have a spare, could have sworn I did.

On my Nikon TC-20E II the body is is marked as a BF-3 (not BF-3A) but its about 2mm deeper than a standard body BF-3 just to muddy the waters.

So you might be able to find a BF-3 that'll fit.

Andy, no worries - many thanks for looking though its much appreciated...

I've found an online dealer - skearsphoto.com who have them in stock unlike SRS but at £14.94 delivered compared to £7.99 delivered (SRS) I think that I could wait for their stock (5 days) to arrive :lol:
