To answer your q they won't do a waruntee repair, but you can pay them the going rate to do it
 
Can't see why not if you're willing to pay. What would happen if an american damaged his camera whilst over here. :shrug:

Nope not under warranty anyway - although you might be able to get fixation etc to do it. I'm pretty sure that they would charge you though.

Do you have any links to or friends in the US? If you can put up with the shipping costs and time you could always ship it back to the US if needed?
 
More the point who would sell a £1700 camera for £750??

Seems waaay too good to be true, unless you actually personally know the person selling.
