Beginner Nikon ViewNX2 help....

Good afternoon, I have just installed Nikon ViewNX2 via the disc that came with my D5300, the following message comes up when I try to open the program:

"These images can neither be displayed as a RAW image nor edited because the distortion control lens profiles used on them are not found"

Can someone/anyone please tell me what this means and how I overcome it?

Try updating your copy of ViewNX (Help > Check for update).

Maybe the software is older than the lens? ViewNX2 is discontinued - you might try Nikon's current free packages, Capture NX-D and ViewNX-i:

yeah, had lots of problems with view2 wont work anymore with D7200, but view NX i is just as good.
