^Well that's unfortunate
I started off taking pictures with a D3100 and later bought a D3400 body that became my primary for over a decade. I decided to upgrade to the D7500 and just clashed with it. I can't exactly explain why, but it sucked the muse out of me anytime I picked it up. It allowed me to capture some pretty amazing pictures, but it just didn't feel "right." I started looking into mirrorless and apprehensively took the plunge while Nikon had its 0% interest for 12 months with a Z6III. I've always liked Nikon and given my current investment in glass from my D body lenses, so an adapter would allow me to keep them. It just seemed to make sense to stick to what I've known, per se. The win in it all is I've found joy in carrying my camera around again after a very lengthy stretch of not quite feeling it.
One of the first pictures I captured with it was the one I'm including in my reply. Paired with a 24-120 f4 lens, some generous warmth from the setting sun and a horse sitting still just long enough to grab the crisp/clarity I hoped to snag. Very little editing was necessary, I'm a minimalist in that sense anyway, but I brought the warmth up a tick and added a diluted vignette border.
