I'm very envious, I've only been there once for a track day (aside from Project Cars 2I'm a season pass holder there and yes it is a very good track. Best get the waterproofs ready though for this weekend.

Just selling mine! I find it far to heavy compared to the 500pf I used to have, not sure why I actually part ex'd it against the 180-600?Well I've finally pulled the plug on a Z 180-600 and off to Oulton Park to try it out at the BTCC meeting. I know it'll be a bit unfair comparing it to my 400mm f/2.8E FL but it's more to see if I can live with it as a lighter all day lens. I will report on my findings once I've tried it.
I don't think you can disable the i button.I wonder if anyone in here can help me, I'd like to customise the controls somewhat on my Zf but I'm not sure if what I want to do is even possible. I think it is not.
First up, I'd like to disable the 'i' button on the back as I keep hitting it when I mean to hit the af button with my thumb. I must have had a camera in ther past that had af activation right where that i button is as my thumb just naturally goes there.
Next, I wonder if it'd be possible to have a quick and easy (and preferably tactile) way to change from back button focus to shutter button half press focus?
I should probably just set the camera to half press focus and just get used to it actually right?!
The menu item is now d19 (I think, well it is on my Zf).I don't think you can disable the i button.
I have my AF set up as in the video below: shutter button gives AF (wide area) on half press, and the "back button" overrides the shutter button to switch on tracking AF (with small area).

Probably, a good pointThe menu item is now d19 (I think, well it is on my Zf).
The value of the tracking for me, is that it's a step up from what I used to do with back button focussing and people.I've just left the back button focus there just now (maybe I'll reassign that button at some point) and put af activation back on the shutter half press. Played about with it last night and I think I will get used to it pretty quick. I have plenty other cameras where shutter half press does that.
I don't really use tracking and stuff but that looks like a good set up if you do @myotis.
So much so, that it's rumoured that Canon are going to replace their 400/600 primes already with models with inbuilt TC'sThe TC is what most want, its been a huge hit with the 400 and 600 model, its a unique feature only available with Nikon, having to remove the lens, putting on a TC does not seem much but in wildlife photography it is a missed shot, even for sports photographers I feel will want that TC.

Viltrox have a 20% off code for this weekend so 9mm is £152, code is SUMMER20. They also have a 15% code for the rest of JuneThanks Ian. I'll take a good look at that one. I'd prefer to have a zoom range, TBH, but that one does look interesting.

puffins by jeff cohen, on FlickrI had the viltrox when I had Sony as it was just too heavy for me, wrist issue. The 7artisans is 25% lighter and a fair bit cheaper. It arrived today, lovely piece of glass, when it cools down a little and I can get ootside, I’ll let you know more. What was it that made you choose it over the Viltrox?
