Yes
Had an email this week from Nikonians offering 1 day training courses on mastering your camera, the blurb sounds good but just wondered if anyone had attended one before and what they thought of it.

I attended one on travel photography in the USA a couple of years ago and thought it was extremely good. The course was well thought out, presented in a professional but friendly way with plenty of opportunity to try things out and ask questions.

I've had the same email as you, I guess, and seriously considering splashing out on one of the courses in the UK ... just haven't decided which one yet  ... most likely the flash/cls one in Birmingham

Aah, Nikonians. I used to go there. Then they go some silly idea about charging people to use a forum, so I came here :D

And as Americans, they say Neye-kon in all their podcasts which is just plain annoying.

I decided to give it a year after they introduced the membership fee (there was always a voluntary contribution members could pay if they felt like it) which runs out in October. I've noticed a huge increase in new "members" who use the one month free introduction to ask the most basic of questions (e.g. how do I switch my camera on?) and then disappear as soon as they are asked to pay. The end result is a forum that doesn't progress, unlike TP where people stick around and you can see their knowledge/skill growing. My Nikonian membership will cease in October
