Well as to the sparseness of Topaz that is because usually you need nothing else and is one of the reasons I like it.
Of course if you are used to other programs with a multitude of sliders etc it will seem very sparse but the AI copes with everything - usually.
In your case I have no idea why the photos seem to have changed so much.
If you want to send me a copy of the original JPEG, not a screen grab or anything else, I can give it a try.

As I say I've had no problems with the programs at all - all I had to do was upgrade my Video card.
