I'm in the process of building my first website. I only have the first two pages finished and the address is just a holding page, but I thought I'd ask for feedback from fellow toggers. Be as gentle or critical as you like.

Oh, I know the portraits button needs sorting as I quite randomly created it bold in PS.

Wow I like the processing you have done on the bloke in the portrait section. I think your site looks quite old fashioned and conventional.

Is that what you were after? All very polite and honest

Old fashioned? Why do you say that? I was trying to make it look clean and simple. I didn't want to build a complete flash site as I need to practice my css.
 
I like it, clean and clear, works quickly enough. :clap:
 
Thanks, Lee. I agree with you about deciding what the site is. to be honest, I doubt very much if this will go live. I just wanted practice putting some slideshows and galleries together as I'd never done so before.

I think the first impression I got was from the initial portrait and the text font displayed. I had another look and still think it looks quaint. Nothing wrong with it, it is nice and simple and clean without any gimmicks.
 
Andy, I wasn't taking it as a slight, mate, just genuine curiosity. Do you mean the font I chose for the header and nav bar? Man, I must be getting old if that's old-fashioned. :lol:
