I am a newbie to the site and looking forward to feeding my increasing interest with all things digital photo. Being of a certain age however it takes a while for the "knowledge" to compute so please be gentle.
My niece has persuaded me to take photo's at her wedding ("Don't do it" I hear you say....too late!). Having emphasised the fact that I am very much an amateur and results could be dissappointing I do want to give it my very best shot.
The formal group shots will hopefully (weather permitting) be outside and having seen photos of the venue I am a bit concerned as to extreme light and shade caused by tree cover. I have recently bought a remote wireless flash trigger and have two flash guns on the assumption that fill in light may be necessary.
Can anyone suggest what camera settings/tips/positioning would give me a fighting chance when using off camera flash units ? I normally shoot RAW/Manual but have very little experience with flash.
Kit: Canon 50D; Sigma 17-70 f2.8-4.5; Tamron 18-270 f 3.5-6.3
Sorry about the length of the thread
