I see some of the most beautiful shots on this forum are taken in our very own Lake District and I have been fortunate enough to get a few days in Bowness-on-Windermere at the end of March.
I have been referring to http://www.walkingenglishman.com/lakes.htm quite extensively and it is a useful guide as to which walks are worthwhile. However I wondered if the kind folk here would helpfully chip in with their favourite spots and walks (especially around Windermere as we will be without a car and thus it would be helpful to start walks from either Bowness or somewhere around the lake).
If something truly beautiful awaits us a 30-45 minute drive away, we will take on that trip somehow.
I am comfortable with all types of terrain and any level of challenge in the walk - up to about 7 hours of walking suits me just fine - fire away!
Thanks.
