Yes
I was just wondering if it was worth somebody setting one up as such, or is it early days yet? It makes sense to sort out all those little techy questions without having to trawl through the site, keep everything in one place is my motto:lol:

If there was a section for each model of camera, there'd be so many sections you'd have to trawl through all of them to even find the right section!

Chris

My apologies I should have said an official thread, maybe within the equipment forum. Then its just a case of clicking on that little tab on yer browser "Bookmark" :D

why trawl through them all when there is such a handy search function, or better yet RYFM ;)

RYFM? I dont know, you young uns and your abrev :D
And without sounding obnoxious Ricky, what might you suggest I type in the search field? 50D maybe? I have tried numerous combinations and have yet to find an official thread as such. If you know something I dont then please share;)
After all it was only a suggestion, if it dont happen then thats fine by me.

Have you tried reading a canon manual ? -- and the menu system **** me whoever desigened that wants shooting....

It's piece of piddle, so are Nikon ones, in fact if anything the Nikon ones are slightly more random but both will tell you exactly what does what.
:D

Read Your Friendly Manual

As for the search, it depends on exactly you want to know so maybe "50D and Mirror Lock Up" or similar

Yup, 300D, 350D, 400D, 20D and 30D - still amazes me how many useful things are in there that I would have no idea about otherwise. But agree, they are not the most user friendly

I did not suggest for one minute that I had trouble reading the manual? Three parts of it are no different to the 400d manual anyway, as for navigating the menu sytem, after an hour in the peace and quiet it was a breeze:D Press buttons and move joystick, again three parts of that are self explanitary, anything I didnt know, reffer back to said manual.Hands on is what its about ;)
So I now know that any issue not covered in the manual or some handy tip someone has posted up will just leave me doing a search.

But if it's a "tips and tricks" thread, you wouldn't know what to search for? Unless you search for "tips and tricks" which is then unlikely to return any results unless there's a thread called "tips and tricks" which is what the OP was asking in the first place!!

Yeh thats what I meant as such:thumbs: So why did I not ask for that in the first place? Instead of confusing matters:gag::gag::gag:

Manuals & Searches are only any good if you know what you are looking for :D

How do you search for "My 50D is giving **** results, what the **** do I fiddle with to sort it" :bang:

My point exactly

Oh thats easy, you search "Buying a Nikon"

Well!! Well!! Wota surprise :D Comment of the year without a doubt, and the winner is? The proud owner of a ???
Maybe just maybe you would like to start a Canon v Nikon thread, you might find it valuable.Comments like that are fine by me, and again do not offend. As mentioned in another post, we all like a bit of friendly banter. However try posting them in the out of focus section, because otherwise threads just go out the window. ;)

Oh I do not think comments like that send a serious thread "out of the window" we don't have to be strictly serious in every section bar OOF do we:)

it was just a joke, pretty good one if you ask me.

To be honest I thought this whole thread was a joke, I mean, it only takes 2seconds to realise there are no other specific camera body forums on here.

 no i wasnt being that serious about the comment, just thought that after reading another C v N comment keep em all in one place and let everybody rip each other apart :woot::woot:

A joke? Why arnt you laughing then? :D
As mentioned and I did aopologise for my mistake, I said maybe a thread, for 50D owners, if not, is it not possible to have a section for Nikon , Canon, Sony etc? irrespect of which model, at least any Nikon, Canon related questions etc would all be under one roof so to speak, you cant beat the old fashion filing method ;) I have no idea how big a forum like TP can get, or even if it is limited in any way? So imo I thought it was a simple enough question to ask.

you can always go to have a look on http://photography-on-the.net/forum/ where its just all canon all the time.

Thanks for that too, I already joined that one a while ago, but as photographing birds is what I seem to be getting into of late, this place is ideal because it mostly covers birds that are native to the UK.
