Cool, the charity shops round me are rubbish. I wish I knew who did their pricing, virtually everything is massively overpriced vs ebay and often there is no more guarantee it'll work.

Yes they aren't a bad little number either if you're after a bit of fun with 110 format.

The later version looks more like an slr as against somesort of spaceship lol....I have both but do prefer the second version.

I'm like a kid at christmas :) My new (old) MF toy has just arrived at work and I can't wait to get a film in it. It's a Pentacon Six TL with MC Biometar 120/2.8.







Overall it's in great condition, the only negative being a dink in the outer ring of the lens and a slightly loose WLF which I've just tightened up and is spot on now :)

Just thought I'd share!

Yeah, it's not exactly "tiny" although I love the reassuring 'thunk' of the mirror. I've just cleaned up the ground glass and viewfinder magnifier and it's like looking through a huge window!

I'll get a roll through it and upload the results :0)

Nice...

There seems to be a knack to loading these beasts to avoid overlapping frames. There is a guide here http://www.pentaconsix.com/Loading.htm
 
Thanks for the heads up. By coincidence I was actually reading the same site last night so am more prepared for loading it. The other suggestion seems to be to ensure the wind on leaver isn't allowed to spring back freely to prevent the film slipping on the take up spool.

Oh well, i'll give it a go and see what comes out!

Lol, it's certainly "chunky" and the MC Biometar is a classic Carl Zeiss lens (can you tell I've been reading up prior to the toy arriving...). I've discovered another issue after loading the film, the film counter isn't working. Reading up its not too uncommon and is caused by the return spring getting unhooked. Quick strip down of the wind on lever is called for, time to get the tools out!
 
I ran a film through the Pentacon quickly this morning so will develop it tonight and see if the spacing is right. Just spoken to Miles Whitehead about the film counter so I'm going to send it off to him to repair (assuming the film spacing is ok!).
 
Phew! Just developed the (admittedly boring) negative and image spacing looks fine although the first couple are fogged because I opened the back and removed the spool when I realised the frame counter wasn't working. I'll get it shipped off to Miles Whitehead to sort the counter out and get it back in time for the Chester meet :0)

You'll have to ignore the pretty poor iphone shots but I thought I'd show the Pentacon Six next to my 5d Classic/Tamron 28-75 as a size comparison;





The bodies are similar weight but the 120mm Zeiss lens on the Pentacon feels like it's made from cast iron so overall the 5d feels positively lightweight :0) I'm going away to Fuerteventura with my wife and kids on Saturday and with the Pentacon going away to Miles Whitehead tomorrow I've already packed the Kowa Six I borrowed off a friend a few weeks ago along with a few rolls of Provia/Velvia. I can't wait to shoot some colour slide film in good light for a change!

First up here's an Ernemann Heag? Possibly the Heag III Stereo with a replacement lens board.
In great condition. Would love to try it with cut sheet film, paper negs or old plates but no plate/film holder and a weird format.

And finally a rather poorly J. Lancaster Aluminium Mounted Instantograph. Knackered bellows, various missing bits and pieces but ground glass intact:

The lot came with four roller-blind shutters (One Sanderson, three unamed), a big Thornton Pickard Focal Plane Shutter and ground glass back and an unopened pack of Klito 1/4 plates.

Nice "pick up.

Don't let the holes in the bellows put you off playing around...get a dark cloth wrapped around before you open the darkslid and you'll get a shot....most of my LF gear lets light in somewhere and that's all I do to avoid light entry.

As for the Ernemann.....what measurements are the holders....I have loads of differing sizes knocking about, some of which atm i have no need for. There may be something suitable that could be modified.
 
you could try 3d fabric paint, mind on corners it can split i think, ive just repainted em (got a film in camera so cant check) hopefully the blob on the inside has faired better :)

Well, the Ernemann has been id'd as a Heag XII Stereo. According to McKeown's it used 6x13 plates but I measure it as 8x13.
It would be great if you have something suitable!

As for the unnamed view camera I'll need to get a ground glass and get one of the shutters working and follow your advice about the bellows.

OK bear with me as I've stuff all over the place and god only knows where i've buried these but I have them listed down as being 15cm x 7cm but as I actually don't have a camera for them, I've never studied them closely.

If from the picture they look like they may be what you need then I'll dig them out and come back to you with exact meaurements.

Looking at the first pic of the Fuji 690 I thought, that doesn't look very big! But then...
 
Thanks for the comparison picture Trev, much appreciated that you did it. It looks much bigger, and although difficult to tell from the picture, it looks a lot taller as well than the F2 (which itself is pretty big for a 35mm camera).

I'm sure you'll enjoy it very much :thumbs:

I'm not sure this is the correct thread to deal with this tbh although it does relate to Sparty's "new toy" :shrug:

Sparty, if you want to sort a seperate thread for this topic then go ahead.

Naturally if the holders are any good to you then I'll sort a deal for them through the "correct TP channels" :thumbs:


Anyway here's a couple of shots showing the exact measurements as promised.

They are without doubt 150 x 70mm external dimensions.

The actual interns where the glass plate would have been situated does measure 130mm x 60mm so it seems McKeown's info is correct.

There are no grooves to the edge of the holders. The actual thickness being 3.5mm / 4mm

Perhaps the 7cm width is going to make them unsuitable unless you can come up with some sort of modification ( without butchering the camera!!)

Perhaps post some more detailed shots of the camera back to see if we can come up with any ideas.

There was one for sale on here last year, it may still be for sale.
 
I was bidding on one a week or so ago but went above what I was prepared to spend.
