(Sorry for the OT pics ... I just wanted to show the different output of the cameras I use. Of course, there is no ceteris paribus etc.

I like the M9 pic best. But I am hopelessly biased, perhaps ...:sorry:)

I was reading a flickr pic post (whilst 'researching' lenses) that a bloke a while ago had a leica, got the good glass, but was annoyed at the m9 pricing so got rid of it for a sony plus adapter and kept the lenses.
I dont have the best glass, but good enough (always want to get more) but am restricted.
However I do like the leica although it is quite heavy.
The little thought that the flickr post seeded is whether I could get a good full frame camera plus adapter whilst chopping in the leica body, and may be enough to get great glass...
Grass is always greener I think. Anyway, probably wont do it as then I wont be able to post here :)

I came from Sony A7R3, 85mm 1.4GM, Tamron 28-75 2.8, Zeiss 21mm 2.8, Zeiss 50mm F2. I sold it all to fund my M10 and 1 lens. That Sony had no soul. Yeah the images were nice and sharp, but I didn’t really Feel like taking the camera out. I have my M10 almost everywhere I go. I miss some of the sony features, but not enough to ever sell my M10.

Hi, I had this dream, too, years ago. I started with OLYMPUS, and then moved through the SONYs (NEX-3, NEX-5, NEX-6, NEX-7, NEX-7AR2, adapting M mount lenses.

This went well up to and including the NEX-6. With "FF" the sensor stack problems set in. SONY offered correction SW for vignetting and colour shift, but could not
correct soft corners.

The dream in those days was bodies age (see C. Schiffer), but lenses are forever young.

This would have been lovely.

I still use SONYs, but only with native glass.

Hi, it is the same with me. I take a SONY when I need its functionalities (high ISO, IS, tilt screen, fast shutter, high res). But I like my Leicas more ...

And where I move I always get positive, friendly reactions when people see me with my Leica taking pics.

This weekend I go to the Schwetzingen Classic Gala. And I shall take my Leica. But the silver one. The other one had the card problems at the event in Bad Camberg.

Hi, across the Rhein Bingen and the Mäuseturm ... (M9 - VOIGTLÄNDER Ultron 2/28 asph v2 f 8; crop) :

While waiting for the airshow at Sidmouth to begin, last week, some of the spectators decided to go for a dip. (Panasonic G9 / Leica DG Vario-Elmar 100~400mm)...

I have other systems including a Z6 and Z Mount lenses & an X100v but the M10 for me is so much nicer in hand and the image quality wins out too.

Of course sometimes it’s nice to be lazy and have AF & some of the additional features at times but the Leica M experience is just so much nicer out in the field and of course given the Leica M’s limitations it makes you work for the photograph too.

My daily kit is the m10 and 35 + 50 crons, for travel I add the zeiss 21

I also have a lux 50 (but increasingly I take the cron as it’s smaller, lighter and frankly my go too walk about aperture is f4 anyway) and a 90rit, which is longer than I need

m9 is in semi retirement as it’s just too precious to me, but I have m9 weeks here and there

(The 50 Summarit is a good lens albeit underrated ... --- I took it on the second day I went to Schwetzingen. It is compact, even with a mounted hood.

And a non perforated hood has its advantages, too. I would have preferred one for the APO-Lanthar on Saturday ... )

Hi all,

where do you go to buy used Leica gear? I use Red Dot Cameras, Park Cameras and London Camera exchange as well as eBay. Does anyone know of others? I’m a bit wary of Facebook for such high value items. I’m not looking for anything in particular, just ‘window shopping’

London Camera Exchange is my go to for most Leica kit I buy. Always had good service from them and the descriptions are always reliable.

They quite often like a deal as well, so always worth asking when negotiating.

Very nice indeed

Hi, even with old iron, one can take nice pics. - All my M mount 50s are good lenses. In everyday use, it would be quite difficult to find great differences.

One does not always need a fast lens for a nice bokeh ... -
